Narada said: “I and my nephew, the great sage Parvata, went to the residence of King Sūñjaya—foremost among victorious heroes—seeking to stay with him. There the king honored us with rites performed according to scriptural rule, and he arranged every desirable comfort and provision for us. Thus we dwelt in his palace.”
नारद उवाच
The verse highlights dharma through proper hospitality: a righteous king honors visiting sages according to scriptural injunction (vidhi) and provides for their needs, showing that ethical kingship includes reverence, ritual propriety, and generous care for guests.
Narada narrates that he and his nephew-sage Parvata went to King Sūñjaya to reside there; the king received them with due rites and arranged all comforts, after which they stayed in his palace.
