ग्रन्थस्यार्थस्य पृष्ट: संस्तादृशो वक्तुमर्हति । यथा तत्त्वाभिगमनादर्थ तस्य स विन्दति
Transliteration
granthasyārthasya pṛṣṭaḥ saṃstādṛśo vaktum arhati | yathā tattvābhigamanād arthaṃ tasya sa vindati
Translation
Vasiṣṭha said: “When one is questioned about the meaning of a treatise, a competent teacher should speak in a manner suited to the listener. For it is by leading the inquirer to the true principles (tattva) that one truly attains the meaning intended by the text.”
