Adhyātma–Adhibhūta–Adhidaivata Correspondences and the Triguṇa Lakṣaṇas (Śānti-parva 301)

Bhīṣma said: “Reflect also on the manifold and wondrous utterances of the Vedas, on the turning of the seasons, and on the ceaseless passing away of time—years and months alike. Seeing how all things change and decline, one should determine one’s duty with clarity and steadiness.”
Bhīṣma urges disciplined reflection on the cycles and decline inherent in time (months, years, seasons) and on Vedic instruction, so that one develops discernment and fixes one’s dharma without being deluded by transient conditions.
In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma continues his counsel to Yudhiṣṭhira, pointing to observable patterns of change and passing—seasonal cycles and the waning of time—as contemplative supports for ethical resolve and steadiness in duty.
