पिता गुरु्न संदेहो वेदविद्याप्रद: प्रभु: अतो भार्गव इत्युक्त मया गोत्र तवान्तिके,“इसमें संदेह नहीं कि वेद और विद्याका दान करनेवाला शक्तिशाली गुरु पिताके ही तुल्य है; इसलिये मैंने आपके निकट अपना गोत्र भार्गव बताया है”

Transliteration

pitā gurau na saṁdeho vedavidyāpradaḥ prabhuḥ | ato bhārgava ity uktaṁ mayā gotraṁ tavāntike ||

Translation

“There is no doubt that a powerful teacher who bestows the Veda and true learning is equal to one’s father. Therefore, in your presence, I declared my lineage as ‘Bhārgava.’”
