पराशर उवाच
Dharma, when it grows and becomes influential, can provoke resistance from adharma; destructive forces may not confront it openly but instead infiltrate society, corrupting people from within.
Parāśara explains to a ruler (addressed as janādhipa) that the Asuras, unable to bear the rise of dharma, gradually increase and then enter into the populace, implying a spreading inner corruption or possession-like influence among people.
