Thus ends the 289th chapter in the Mokṣadharma section of the Śānti Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, describing the meeting between Mahādeva (Śiva) and Śukrācārya. This colophon marks the completion of the unit and frames it within the larger discourse on dharma and mokṣa.
भीष्म उवाच
This line functions as a colophon: it signals the completion of a Mokṣadharma chapter and situates the episode (Śiva–Śukrācārya meeting) within the broader Śānti Parva project of teaching dharma oriented toward inner peace and liberation.
The text is not a narrative event but an editorial/colophonic closure stating that the chapter about the encounter between Mahādeva and Śukrācārya has concluded within the Mokṣadharma section of Śānti Parva.
