भीष्य उवाच अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम्‌ । नारदस्य च संवादं समड्रस्य च भारत,भीष्मजीने कहा--भरतनन्दन! इस विषयमें विद्वान्‌ पुरुष देवर्षि नारद और समड्ढके संवादरूप प्राचीन इतिहासका उदाहरण दिया करते हैं

bhīṣma uvāca | atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṃ purātanam | nāradasya ca saṃvādaṃ samaṅgasya ca bhārata ||

Bhishma said: “Here too, O Bharata, the learned cite an ancient precedent—an old historical exemplum—namely the dialogue between the divine sage Narada and Samaṅga.”
