Adhyāya 283: Varṇa-vṛtti, Nyāya-ārjana, and the Decline-and-Restoration of Dharma (वर्णवृत्तिः न्यायार्जनं च)

तेन शब्देन महता त्रस्तास्तत्र दिवौकस:,उस महाभयंकर कोलाहलसे उस यज्ञमें पधारे हुए समस्त देवता व्याकुल हो उठे। पर्वत टूक-टूक होकर बिखर गये। धरती डोलने लगी, आँधी चलने लगी और समुद्रमें तूफान आ गया

tena śabdena mahatā trastās tatra divaukasaḥ

Dakṣa said: “Struck by that tremendous sound, the gods who had assembled there for the sacrifice were thrown into panic. The uproar was so terrifying that mountains seemed to shatter and scatter, the earth began to tremble, violent winds arose, and the ocean was churned into a storm.”
