ववौ सुख: शिवो वायुर्नानागन्धवह: शुचि: । सर्वर्तुकुसुमोपेता: पुष्पवन्तो टद्रुमास्तथा
vavau sukhaḥ śivo vāyur nānāgandhavahaḥ śuciḥ | sarvartukusumopetāḥ puṣpavanto tad-drumās tathā ||
Bhīṣma said: “A pure, gentle, and auspicious breeze kept blowing, carrying many kinds of fragrance. Trees laden with blossoms—adorned with flowers of every season—enhanced the beauty of that lofty summit.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse uses a serene, fragrant, and seasonally blossoming landscape to signal auspiciousness and purity—an ethical atmosphere conducive to śānti (inner calm), reflection, and dharmic instruction.
Bhīṣma is describing the setting: a lofty place where a pure, pleasant breeze carries many fragrances and flowering trees—bearing blossoms of all seasons—beautify the summit.
