ततो विमुच्य देवेन्द्र ब्रह्म॒वध्या युधिष्ठिर । यथा विसृष्टं तं वासमगमद्‌ देवशासनात्‌,युधिष्ठिर! तदनन्तर देवराज इन्द्रको छोड़कर वह ब्रह्महत्या ब्रह्माजीकी आज्ञासे उनके दिये हुए पूर्वोक्त निवास-स्थानोंको चली गयी

tato vimucya devendra brahmavadhyā yudhiṣṭhira | yathā visṛṣṭaṃ taṃ vāsaṃ agamad devaśāsanāt ||

Bhīṣma said: “Then, O Yudhiṣṭhira, Indra—the lord of the gods—was released from the taint of brahmahatyā. In accordance with the divine ordinance, that sin departed and went to the previously assigned abodes.”
