आगमो वेददवादास्तु तर्कशास्त्राणि चागम:,वेदमतका अनुसरण करनेवाले शास्त्र तो आगम हैं ही, तर्कशास्त्र (वेदोंके अर्थका निर्णय करनेवाले पूर्वोत्तर मीमांसा आदि) भी आगम हैं

Transliteration

āgamo vedavādās tu tarkaśāstrāṇi cāgamaḥ

Translation

Kapila said: The authoritative tradition (āgama) consists of the teachings grounded in the Veda; and the disciplines of reasoning as well—those treatises that determine and clarify the Veda’s meaning—are also to be regarded as āgama. Thus, both revealed testimony and disciplined inquiry are affirmed as valid supports for understanding dharma.
