तृष्णाक्षय-उपदेशः

Instruction on the Cessation of Craving

स्यूमराश्मिरुवाच स्यूमरश्मिरहं ब्रह्म॒न्‌ जिज्ञासार्थमिहागत: । श्रेयस्काम: प्रत्यवोचमार्जवान्न विवक्षया,स्यूमरश्मिने कहा--ब्रह्मन्‌! मेरा नाम स्यूमरश्मि है। मैं ज्ञान-प्राप्तिकी इच्छासे यहाँ आया हूँ। मैंने कल्याणकी इच्छा रखकर सरल भावसे ही अपनी बातें आपकी सेवामें उपस्थित की हैं, वाद-विवादकी इच्छासे नहीं

Sūmarāśmir uvāca—Sūmarāśmir ahaṁ brahman jijñāsārtham ihāgataḥ | Śreyaskāmaḥ pratyavocam ārjavān na vivakṣayā ||

Sūmarāśmi said: “O Brahman, my name is Sūmarāśmi. I have come here with the wish to know. Seeking what is truly beneficial, I have spoken plainly and straightforwardly, not with any desire to argue or contend.”
