एतानि सह यज्ञेन प्रजापतिरकल्पयत् । तेन प्रजापतिर्देवान् यज्ञेनायजत प्रभु:
etāni saha yajñena prajāpatir akalpayat | tena prajāpatiḥ devān yajñenāyajata prabhuḥ ||
Kapila explains: “In the beginning, Prajāpati fashioned these things together with the institution of sacrifice (yajña). Then that sovereign Prajāpati himself worshiped the gods through yajña—showing that cosmic order and divine relationship are sustained by disciplined, rightful offering, not by mere possession or power.”

Yajña is presented as foundational to creation and social-cosmic order: even Prajāpati models dharma by sustaining the gods through sacrificial offering, implying that rightful giving and disciplined action uphold the world.
Kapila states that Prajāpati instituted the sacrificial system along with created things, and then Prajāpati himself performed yajña to the gods using those sacrificial means, establishing a paradigm of reciprocal maintenance between beings and the divine.
