Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas
तथा तानपि संवृद्धान् दृष्टवा चाप्तुवतां मुदम् । शकुनौ निर्भयौ तत्र ऊषतुश्चात्मजै: सह
tathā tān api saṁvṛddhān dṛṣṭvā cāptuvatāṁ mudam | śakunau nirbhayau tatra ūṣatuś cātmajaiḥ saha ||
Bhishma said: Seeing those young birds grown, and witnessing the joy of those who had gained their wish, the pair of birds lived there without fear, together with their offspring.
भीष्म उवाच
Steady self-restraint and faithful observance of vows foster conditions where fear subsides and beings can live together peacefully; ethical discipline bears fruit not only inwardly but also in the surrounding world.
The birds’ young have grown; the joy of those who have achieved their aim is observed; and the pair of birds, now secure with their offspring, remain there without fear—marking a resolution of tension into trust and coexistence.
