कपिलगोसंवादे गृहस्थ-त्यागधर्मयोः प्रमाण्यविचारः
Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas
ततः कदाचित तांस्तत्र पश्यन् पक्षीन् यतव्रतः । बभूव परमप्रीतस्तदा मतिमतां वर:
tataḥ kadācit tāṁs tatra paśyan pakṣīn yatavrataḥ | babhūva paramaprītas tadā matimatāṁ varaḥ ||
Then, on one occasion, the vow-observant sage Jājali—foremost among the wise—saw those fledglings there, now winged and flying, and was filled with delight. Seeing their young grown, the parent birds too rejoiced, and with their offspring dwelt there without fear.
भीष्म उवाच
Disciplined observance of vows (saṁyama and vrata) supports a life where beings can flourish without fear; joy arises not from possession or harm, but from restraint and harmonious coexistence.
Jājali, steadfast in his vows, watches the birds’ young grow and fly. He feels deep happiness, and the parent birds, pleased at their offspring’s maturity, remain there fearlessly with their young.
