Nārada said: “For the welfare of all beings, devise some other means—so that these living creatures, all together, are not burned up, O Grandfather, O Grandfather.”
नारद उवाच
Even when confronting a crisis that seems to demand harsh action, one should seek an alternative method that protects life; welfare (hita) and compassion toward all beings should guide decision-making.
Nārada addresses the ‘Grandfather’ (Pitamaha), urging him to reconsider a destructive course of action and to find another expedient so that all creatures are not consumed together.
