Gṛhastha-vṛtti and Niyama: Models of Householder Livelihood and Discipline (गृहस्थवृत्ति-नियमाः)

तस्मादुन्मज्जनस्यार्थे प्रयतेत विचक्षण: । एतदुन्मज्जनं तस्य यदयं ब्राह्मणो भवेत्‌,इसलिये बुद्धिमान्‌ पुरुषको कालनद या भवसागरसे पार होनेका अवश्य प्रयत्न करना चाहिये। उसका पार होना यही है कि वह वास्तवमें ब्राह्मण बन जाय अर्थात्‌ ब्रह्माज्ञान प्राप्त करे

Translation

Therefore, the discerning should strive to rise up and cross over. For him, true crossing is this: that he becomes a Brāhmaṇa in reality—that is, he attains knowledge of Brahman (Brahma-jñāna).
