मदिराश्चश्व राजर्षिदत््वा कन्यां सुमध्यमाम् | हिरण्यहस्ताय गतो लोकान् देवैरभिष्टतान्,राजर्षि मदिराश्व हिरण्यहस्तको अपनी सुन्दरी कन्या देकर देववन्दित लोकोंमें गये थे
madirāśvaś ca rājarṣir dattvā kanyāṃ sumadhyamām | hiraṇyahastāya gato lokān devair abhiṣṭutān ||
Vyāsa said: The royal sage Madirāśva, having given his slender-waisted, beautiful daughter in marriage to Hiraṇyahasta, departed to those worlds that are praised by the gods.
व्यास उवाच
The verse presents a dharmic ideal: when a ruler-sage performs righteous acts—especially the socially and ritually weighty act of giving a daughter in marriage in accordance with dharma—such conduct generates merit leading to exalted realms praised even by the gods.
Vyāsa recounts that the royal sage Madirāśva gave his beautiful daughter to Hiraṇyahasta (as a bride) and, as a result of his righteous life and deed, departed to divine-praised worlds.
