सर्वकामैश्व सम्पूर्ण दत्त्वा वेश्म हिरण्मयम् । मुद्गलाय गत: स्वर्ग शतझुम्नो महीपति:,महाराज शत्द्युम्न मुद्गल ब्राह्मणको समस्त भोगोंसे सम्पन्न सुवर्णमय भवन देकर स्वर्गलोकमें गये थे
sarvakāmaiś ca sampūrṇaṁ dattvā veśma hiraṇmayam | mudgalāya gataḥ svargaṁ śata-dyumno mahīpatiḥ ||
Vyāsa said: Having presented to the brāhmaṇa Mudgala a golden mansion, complete with every desired comfort and provision, King Śatadyumna departed for heaven.
व्यास उवाच
The verse underscores dāna as a central dharmic virtue: a ruler’s wholehearted, complete gift—especially to a worthy brāhmaṇa—constitutes righteous conduct and is portrayed as leading to heavenly attainment.
Vyāsa narrates that King Śatadyumna gave Mudgala a fully furnished golden mansion, endowed with all comforts; after this act of generosity, the king is said to have gone to Svarga.
