Śakra said: “She even issues commands to her husband and, calling him over, speaks to him in a familiar, overbearing way. In the very presence of her mother-in-law and father-in-law, the daughter-in-law begins to rule over the household servants. She gives orders even to her husband and, before everyone, summons him and talks to him.”

The passage highlights norms of household dharma: restraint in speech, respect toward elders, and avoiding public humiliation or domination within family relationships—especially between spouses and in the presence of in-laws.
Śakra describes a situation of domestic impropriety: a daughter-in-law openly commands servants and even her husband, summoning and addressing him publicly before the elders of the house, indicating a breakdown of respectful familial conduct.
