Yoga–Sāṃkhya Synthesis, Chariot Allegory, and the Vyakta–Avyakta Distinction
अनार्य क्षार्यमासीन पर्युपासन्न तत्र ह । आश्रमस्थान् विधर्मस्था: प्राद्धिषन्त परस्परम्,दानवोंके यहाँ अनार्य वहाँ बैठे हुए आर्य पुरुषकी सेवामें उपस्थित नहीं होते हैं। अधर्मपरायण दैत्य आश्चवमवासी महात्माओंसे तथा आपसमें भी द्वेष रखते हैं
anāryāḥ kṣāryam āsīnaṃ paryupāsan tatra ha | āśramasthān vidharmasthāḥ prādviṣanta parasparam ||
There, the uncultured (anārya) would not attend upon the noble man (ārya) seated before them. Those who had fallen away from dharma, even while dwelling in hermitages (āśramas), bore hostility—toward the great-souled ascetics and even toward one another.
शक्र उवाच
Outer setting (even an āśrama) does not guarantee inner dharma. True nobility is shown by respectful service and absence of malice; adharma reveals itself through refusal to honor the worthy and through mutual hatred.
Śakra describes a scene where ignoble beings fail to attend respectfully upon a noble Kṣatriya and, though living in hermitage settings, act contrary to dharma—harboring enmity toward ascetics and toward each other.
