श्रीर्वाच स्वधर्ममनुतिष्ठ त्सु धैर्यादवलितेषु च । स्वर्गमार्गाभिरामेषु सत्त्वेषु निरता हाहम्,लक्ष्मीने कहा--इन्द्र! जो अपने धर्मका पालन करते, धैर्यसे कभी विचलित नहीं होते और स्वर्गप्राप्तिके साधनोंमें सानन्द लगे रहते हैं, उन प्राणियोंके भीतर मैं सदा निवास करती हूँ
śrīr uvāca—svadharmam anutiṣṭha; dhairyād avaliteṣu ca; svargamārgābhirāmeṣu sattveṣu niratāhaṃ.
Śrī (Lakṣmī) said: “Practice your own dharma; and among those who are not shaken from steadfastness and who joyfully apply themselves to the delightful means that lead to heaven, I remain continually present within such beings.”
शक्र उवाच
Prosperity (Śrī/Lakṣmī) is not random: she abides with those who faithfully perform their own duty (svadharma), remain steady in courage and composure, and take joyful interest in righteous means leading to higher good (svarga).
Śrī (Lakṣmī) addresses Indra (Śakra), explaining the kind of persons in whom she chooses to dwell—those unwavering in dharma and steadfastness, engaged in meritorious paths.
