ब्राह्मणस्य पूर्वतरा वृत्तिः — The Earlier Ideal Conduct of a Brahmana

यान्येव पुरुष: कुर्वन्‌ सुखै: कालेन युज्यते

yānyeva puruṣaḥ kurvan sukhaiḥ kālena yujyate

Bhīṣma said: “Whatever deeds a person performs, in due course of time he becomes joined with (that is, comes to experience) the corresponding सुख—pleasures and comforts—arising from them.”
