यदा यदा हि पुरुष: कल्याणे कुरुते मन: । तदा तस्य प्रसिध्यन्ति सर्वार्था नात्र संशय:,पुरुष जब-जब कल्याणस्वरूप परमात्माके चिन्तनमें मन लगाता है, तब-तब उसके सारे मनोरथ सिद्ध होते हैं, इसमें संशय नहीं है
yadā yadā hi puruṣaḥ kalyāṇe kurute manaḥ | tadā tasya prasidhyanti sarvārthā nātra saṃśayaḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: “Whenever a person turns the mind toward what is truly auspicious and wholesome, then all that person’s aims come to fulfillment—of this there is no doubt.”
भीष्म उवाच
Directing the mind repeatedly toward kalyāṇa—what is truly wholesome and auspicious—becomes the foundation for the fulfillment of one’s aims; inner ethical orientation is presented as the sure cause of success.
In Śānti Parva, Bhīṣma instructs on dharma and right living; here he emphasizes mental alignment with the good as a practical principle that leads to the accomplishment of life’s purposes.
