Bali–Vāsava Dialogue on Kāla and Steadfastness

कर्मशि: श्रुतिसम्पन्न: सद्धिराचरितै: शुचि: । सदैव दमसंयुक्तस्तस्य भुड्नक्ते महाफलम्‌,जो वेदशास्त्रोंका ज्ञाता और सत्पुरुषोंद्वारा आचरणमें लाये हुए शुभ कर्मोसे पवित्र है तथा जिसने सदा ही दमका पालन किया है, वह अपने शुभकर्मका महान्‌ फल भोगता है

karmaśīlaḥ śrutisampannaḥ sadbhir ācaritaiḥ śuciḥ | sadaiva damasaṃyuktas tasya bhuṅkte mahāphalam ||

Bhishma said: One who is devoted to righteous action, endowed with the learning of the Vedas, purified by auspicious deeds practiced by the virtuous, and ever disciplined in self-restraint—such a person truly enjoys the great fruit of his good conduct.
