संस्काराणामसंख्यानां कामात्मा तदवाप्नुयात्‌ । मनस्यन्तर्तितं सर्व स वेदोत्तमपूरुष:,कामनाओंमें जिसका मन आसक्त है, वह पुरुष स्वप्नमें असंख्य संस्कारोंके अनुसार अनेक दृश्योंको देखता है। वे समस्त संस्कार उसके मनमें ही छिपे रहते हैं, जिन्हें वह सर्वश्रेष्ठ अन्तर्यामी पुरुष परमात्मा जानता है

saṃskārāṇām asaṅkhyānāṃ kāmātmā tad avāpnuyāt | manasy antarhitaṃ sarvaṃ sa vedottama-pūruṣaḥ ||

Bhishma said: A man whose mind is driven by desire comes to experience, in dream, countless impressions (saṃskāras) and the many scenes that arise from them. All those impressions lie concealed within the mind itself; the Supreme Inner Ruler—the highest Person known through the Veda—knows them all.
