Vyaktāvyakta-Viveka and Nivṛtti as Paramā Gati

Manifest–Unmanifest Discrimination and the Supreme Path of Withdrawal

guruḥ uvāca: śṛṇu śiṣya mahāprājña brahma-guhyam idaṁ param | adhyātmaṁ sarva-vidyānām āgamānāṁ ca yad dhruvam || atha yad-yad yadā bhāti kāla-yogād yugādiṣu | tat-tad utpadyate jñānaṁ loka-yātrā-vidhāna-jam ||

The teacher said: “Listen, O disciple of great understanding. What you have asked is the supreme and secret mystery of Brahman. It is the principle of the inner Self (adhyātma), the very essence and stable core of all branches of knowledge and of the sacred traditions. And whatever appears at whatever time—through the conjunction of time, at the beginnings of ages—corresponding knowledge arises again and again, born of the ordering of the world’s course and the needs of living beings.”
