अ्हस्त्वमसि कल्याण वार्ष्णेयं शृणु यत्परम्‌ । कालचक्रमनाद्यन्तं भावाभावस्वलक्षणम्‌

ahastvam asi kalyāṇa vārṣṇeyaṁ śṛṇu yat param | kālacakram anādyantaṁ bhāvābhāva-svalakṣaṇam ||

Bhīṣma said: “O auspicious one, O Vārṣṇeya, you are not helpless. Listen now to the highest teaching: the wheel of Time—without beginning or end—whose very mark is the arising and passing away of all states of being and non-being.”
