स्वजादन्यकृताच्चैव सर्वपापात्‌ प्रमुच्यते । इस प्रकार सम्पूर्ण देवताओंमें जो चार वर्ण हैं, उनका वर्णन किया गया। जो सबेरे उठकर इन देवताओंका कीर्तन करता है, वह स्वयं किये हुए तथा दूसरोंके संसर्गसे प्राप्त हुए सम्पूर्ण पापसमूहसे मुक्त हो जाता है

bhīṣma uvāca | svajād anyakṛtāc caiva sarvapāpāt pramucyate | iti prakāreṇa samasta-devatāsu ye catvāro varṇāḥ, teṣāṃ varṇanaṃ kṛtam | yaḥ prātaḥ utthāya etā devatāḥ kīrtayati, sa svayaṃ kṛtāt tathā anyasaṃsargaprāptāt samasta-pāpasamūhāt mucyate |

Bhishma said: “One is released from every sin—those born of one’s own actions as well as those incurred through association with the deeds of others. Thus, the four ‘classes’ spoken of among the deities have been described. Whoever rises in the morning and recites the praise of these deities becomes free from the entire accumulation of sin, whether self-made or acquired through contact with others.”
