Vipracitti-pradhānāṁś ca dānavān asṛjad ū Danuḥ | Ditis tu sarvān asurān mahāsattvān ajījanat ||
Bhīṣma said: Danu gave birth to the Dānavas, among whom Vipracitti and others were foremost. Diti, however, became the mother of all the Asuras—mighty beings of great power.
