यथा चन्द्रो हामावास्यां नक्षत्रैर्युज्यते गत: । तद्वच्छरीरनिर्मुक्त: फलैर्युज्यति कर्मण:,जैसे अमावास्याका अतिक्रमण करनेपर चन्द्रमा नक्षत्रोंसे संयुक्त होता है, उसी प्रकार जीवात्मा एक शरीरका त्याग करनेपर कर्मोके फलस्वरूप दूसरे शरीरसे युक्त होता है

“Just as the Moon, having passed beyond the new-moon night, is joined again with the stars, so too the jīva, upon leaving one body, is joined to another body as the fruit of its karma.”
