मनु-उपदेशः — भूत-उत्पत्ति, इन्द्रिय-निवृत्ति, तथा पर-स्वभाव-विवेकः

Manu’s Instruction on Elemental Origination, Sense-Withdrawal, and Discrimination of the Supreme Nature

एतां बुद्ध्वा नरो बुद्ध्या भूतानामागतिं गतिम्‌ । समवेक्ष्य शनैश्वैव लभते शममुत्तमम्‌,मनुष्य अपनी बुद्धिके बलसे इन सबको और जीवोंके आवागमनकी अवस्थाको जानकर शनै:-शनै: उसपर विचार करनेसे उत्तम शान्ति पा जाता है

etāṁ buddhvā naro buddhyā bhūtānām āgatiṁ gatiṁ | samavekṣya śanaiś caiva labhate śamam uttamam ||

Bhīṣma said: “Having understood, through the power of his own discernment, the coming and going—the courses of transmigrating beings—a person who steadily contemplates this, little by little, attains the highest peace.”
