Adhyāya 193: Adjudication of the Comparable Fruits of Japa and Yoga

असत्कर्माणि कुर्वन्तस्तिर्यग्योनिषु चापरे । क्षीणायुषस्तथा चान्ये नश्यन्ति पृथिवीतले,दूसरे लोग जो यहाँ पापकर्म करते हैं, वे पशु-पक्षियोंकी योनिमें जन्म ग्रहण करते हैं और दूसरे कितने ही आयुक्षय होनेपर नष्ट हो जाते हैं और पातालमें चले जाते हैं

Transliteration

bharadvāja uvāca | asatkarmāṇi kurvantastiryagyoniṣu cāpare | kṣīṇāyuṣastathā cānye naśyanti pṛthivītale |

Translation

Bharadvāja said: “Those who engage in unrighteous deeds are born again in the wombs of animals and birds; and others, their lifespan exhausted, perish upon the earth—falling away into lower states of existence.”
