Bharadvāja said: “When, within the fivefold complex of bodily experience, there is no longer form, no touch, and no heat, then—once the body’s fire has become quiet—at the moment of casting off the body, the self does not perish. The teaching underscores that death is a change of condition for the body and its sensations, not the destruction of the enduring principle that witnesses them.”
