Bhṛgu said: “O Brahmin, O sinless sage, I shall explain to you the course and functioning of the wind (vāyu). I will describe how the mighty vital air sets the bodies of living beings into motion and activity.”
भरद्वाज उवाच
The verse introduces a teaching on prāṇa/vāyu: the vital air is presented as the powerful principle that animates embodied beings, making bodily functions and movements possible.
Bhṛgu begins an explanatory discourse addressed to a Brahmin sage, announcing that he will describe the ‘movement of Vāyu’ and explain how this force energizes and activates the bodies of living creatures.
