Transliteration

bhṛgur uvāca—prajāvisargaṁ vividhaṁ mānaso manasāsṛjat | saṁrakṣaṇārthaṁ bhūtānāṁ sṛṣṭaṁ prathamataḥ jalam ||

Translation

Bhṛgu said: “With the power of mind alone, the Mind-born Lord brought forth a diverse creation of beings. And for the protection and sustenance of creatures, he first created water.”
