Educational Q&A

Bhishma introduces a traditional exemplum: ethical instruction will be conveyed through an old dialogue, highlighting the value of contentment and non-striving (ajagara-vṛtti) as a dharmic stance in certain contexts.

Bhishma tells the king that, to explain the present topic, he will cite an ancient story—specifically a conversation between Prahlada and a sage characterized by the ‘python-like’ mode of living.
