Adhyāya 180: Jīva, Śarīra, and the Fire Analogy (भृगु–भरद्वाज संवादः)

इति भूतानि सम्पश्यन्ननुषक्तानि मृत्युना । सर्वसामान्यगो विद्वान्‌ कृतकृत्य: सुखं स्वपे,“इस प्रकार सारे प्राणियोंको मैं मृत्युके पाशमें बद्ध देखता हूँ; इसलिये तत्त्वको जानकर कृतकृत्य हो सबके प्रति समान भाव रखता हुआ सुखसे सोता हूँ

iti bhūtāni sampaśyann anuṣaktāni mṛtyunā | sarvasāmānyago vidvān kṛtakṛtyaḥ sukhaṃ svape ||

Bhishma said: “Seeing thus that all beings are bound and entangled in the noose of death, I—knowing the truth—have become one who has done what must be done. Moving with an equal regard toward all, I sleep in peace.”
