Thus, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Śānti Parva—specifically in the Mokṣadharma section—the one hundred and seventy-fourth chapter, whose subject is the narration of the dialogue between a Brahmin and King Senajit, comes to an end.
भीष्म उवाच
This line is a colophon marking the end of a chapter in the Mokṣadharma section; it frames the teaching as a didactic dialogue (between a Brahmin and King Senajit) situated within Śānti Parva’s broader concern with dharma, peace, and the pursuit of liberation.
The text signals closure: the chapter that narrates the Brahmin–Senajit conversation has concluded within the Mokṣadharma portion of Śānti Parva (as recounted in the Mahābhārata’s ongoing discourse attributed to Bhīṣma).
