Doctrine of Creation from the Unmanifest ‘Mānasa’
यदा न कुरुते धीर: सर्वभूतेषु पापकम् | कर्मणा मनसा वाचा ब्रह्म सम्पद्यते तदा
yadā na kurute dhīraḥ sarvabhūteṣu pāpakam | karmaṇā manasā vācā brahma sampadyate tadā ||
When a steadfast and discerning person does not commit any sinful act toward any living being—whether by deed, by thought, or by speech—then he attains Brahman, the Supreme Reality.
ब्राह्मण उवाच
Complete non-harm and non-sin toward all beings—maintained consistently in thought, speech, and action—is presented as the direct condition for attaining Brahman. Ethical integrity is treated as a spiritual discipline leading to liberation.
In the Shanti Parva’s instructional setting, a Brahmin speaker delivers a concise doctrinal statement: the wise person who refrains from wrongdoing toward any creature in all three channels (mind, speech, deed) becomes established in Brahman.
