On the Faults of Discontent and the Discipline of Detachment

ते जनास्तां गति यान्ति नाविद्वांसो5ल्पचेतस: । नाबुद्धयो नातपस: सर्व बुद्धौ प्रतेष्ठितम्
Translation
Men do not attain that course who are ignorant and small-minded; nor those without discernment, nor those devoid of austerity. For all things are founded upon buddhi—true intelligence. Therefore only the wise and the ascetic reach that goal; the foolish, the dull-witted, those lacking pure understanding, and those empty of tapas do not.
