कुलाज्ज्ञानात्‌ तथैश्वर्यान्मदो भवति देहिनाम्‌ | एभिरेव तु विज्ञातै: स च सद्यः प्रणश्यति,अपने उत्तम कुल, उत्कृष्ट ज्ञान तथा ऐश्वर्यका अभिमान होनेसे देहाभिमानी मनुष्योंपर मद सवार हो जाता है; परंतु इनके यथार्थ स्वरूपका ज्ञान हो जानेपर वह मद तत्काल उतर जाता है

From pride in noble birth, in excellent learning, and in power and wealth, mada—arrogant intoxication—comes to dominate embodied beings who cling to the body. But when their true nature is rightly understood, that pride vanishes at once.
