त्रिवर्गविचारः
Tri-varga Deliberation: Dharma, Artha, Kāma
कर्म यच्छुभमेवेह सद्धिराचरितं च यत् । तदेव ज्ञानयुक्तस्य मुनेर्वर्त्म न हीयते,इस जगत्में जो केवल शुभ (कल्याणकारी) कर्म है तथा सत्पुरुषोंने जिसका आचरण किया है, वही ज्ञानवान् मुनिका मार्ग है। वह स्वभावत:ः उसका आचरण करता है। उससे कभी च्युत नहीं होता
karma yacchubham eveha saddhir ācaritaṃ ca yat | tad eva jñānayuktasya muner vartma na hīyate ||
Bhishma said: In this world, the truly auspicious deeds—those practiced by the good—are precisely the path of the sage endowed with knowledge. He follows them as a matter of his very nature, and he never falls away from that course.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse teaches that wisdom is expressed through conduct: the truly knowledgeable sage naturally follows only auspicious actions validated by the practice of the virtuous, and such a person does not deviate from that dharmic path.
In the Shanti Parva’s instruction on dharma and right living, Bhishma continues advising on ethical standards, grounding the sage’s way in śubha karma and the established conduct (ācāra) of good people.
