संरक्षति त्वां पवन: सखित्वेन न संशय: । तस्मात्‌ त्व बहुशाखो5पि पर्णवान्‌ पुष्पवानपि,“इसमें संदेह नहीं कि वायुदेव तुम्हें अपना मित्र माननेके कारण ही तुम्हारी रक्षा करते हैं; इसीलिये तुम अनेक शाखाओंसे सम्पन्न तथा पत्ते और पुष्पोंसे हरे-भरे हो

saṃrakṣati tvāṃ pavanaḥ sakhitvena na saṃśayaḥ | tasmāt tvaṃ bahuśākho 'pi parṇavān puṣpavān api |

Bhishma said: “There is no doubt that the Wind-god protects you because he regards you as a friend. Therefore, you stand flourishing—rich in many branches, and adorned with leaves and blossoms.”
