अथाभवत्‌ क्षणेनैव वियद्‌ विमलतारकम्‌ | महत्सर इवोत्फुल्लं॑ कुमुदच्छुरितोदकम्‌,तदनन्तर एक ही क्षणमें आकाशके बादल फट गये, निर्मल तारे चमक उठे, मानो खिले हुए कुमुद-पुष्पोंसे सुशोभित जलवाला कोई विशाल सरोवर प्रकाशित हो रहा हो

Transliteration

athābhavat kṣaṇenaiva viyad vimalatārakam | mahatsara ivotphullaṁ kumudacchuritodakam ||

Translation

Bhishma said: “Then, in a single instant, the sky became clear and studded with pure, shining stars—like a vast lake suddenly revealed, its waters bright and beautiful with fully blossomed white lotuses.”
