Śaraṇāgata-Atithi-Dharma in the Kapota Narrative (कपोत-आख्यानम्—शरणागतधर्मः)

तम्मिंस्त्वभ्यागते काले प्रजानां दोषकारके । विज्ञानबलमास्थाय जीवितव्यं भवेत्‌ तदा,प्रजाओंके लिये दोष उत्पन्न करनेवाले ऐसे भयानक समयके आनेपर ब्राह्मणको विज्ञानबलका आश्रय लेकर जीवन-निर्वाह करना चाहिये

tammiṁstv abhyāgate kāle prajānāṁ doṣakārake | vijñānabalam āsthāya jīvitavyaṁ bhavet tadā ||

Bhishma said: When such a dreadful time arrives—one that breeds faults and harms among the people—then a brāhmaṇa should sustain life by taking refuge in the strength of discernment and true knowledge, choosing a livelihood guided by wisdom rather than by ruinous impulses.
