कुमित्रे संगतिर्नास्ति नित्यमस्थिरसौहदे । अवमान: कुसम्बन्धे भवत्यर्थविपर्यये,कुमित्रका स्नेह कभी स्थिर नहीं रह सकता, इसलिये उसके साथ सदा मेल बना रहे-- यह असम्भव है और जहाँ दूषित सम्बन्ध हो, वहाँ स्वार्थमें अन्तर आनेपर अपमान होने लगता है
Transliteration
kumitre saṅgatir nāsti nityam asthira-sauhade | avamānaḥ kusambandhe bhavaty artha-viparyaye ||
Translation
With a bad friend, lasting companionship is not possible, for such friendship is ever unstable. And where the relationship itself is tainted, the moment interests turn contrary, disrespect and humiliation inevitably arise.
