न हि वैराग्निरुद्धूत: कर्म चाप्यपराधजम् | शाम्यत्यदग्ध्वा नृपते विना होकतरक्षयात्
Transliteration
na hi vairāgnir uddhūtaḥ karma cāpy aparādhajam | śāmyaty adagdhvā nṛpate vinā hokatarakṣayāt ||
Translation
For the fire of enmity, once fanned into flame, and the consequences born of wrongdoing do not subside, O king, without first burning through their fuel. They are not quenched except by the exhaustion of their very cause.
