कृतवैरे न विश्वास: कार्यस्त्विह सुहृद्यपि । छन्न॑ संतिष्ठते वैरं गूढो5ग्निरिव दारुषु,जिसने वैर बाँध लिया हो, ऐसे सुहृदपर भी इस जगतमें विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिये; क्योंकि जैसे लकड़ीके भीतर आग छिपी रहती है, उसी प्रकार उसके हृदयमें वैरभाव छिपा रहता है
Translation
One who has bound himself to enmity should not be trusted in this world, even if he is a friend; for as fire lies hidden within wood, so does hostility lie concealed within his heart.
