अथात्मकृत्ये त्वरित: सम्यक् प्रश्नितमाचरन् । उवाच लोमशो वाक््यं मूषिकं चिरकारिणम्
athātmakṛtye tvaritaḥ samyak praśnitam ācaran | uvāca lomaśo vākyaṃ mūṣikaṃ cirakāriṇam ||
Then, hastening to attend to what needed to be done, and acting in accordance with what had been properly asked, Lomaśa spoke these words to the mouse named Cirakārin.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical value of responding to proper inquiry with proper action—doing what must be done without delay, and aligning one’s conduct with sound counsel.
Bhīṣma narrates that Lomaśa, having been rightly questioned, proceeds promptly to his task and addresses the mouse named Cirakārin, continuing an instructive episode framed as moral guidance.
